I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Westminster, Department of Modern Languages and Cultures. My research interests include African diaspora, identity and cultural/anthropological studies. My PhD project focuses on the young Congolese community in London, with a particular interest on their cultural and artistic production. The research investigates the impact that the Congolese heritage has on their identity construction and the role that art plays within the Congolese diaspora and the transnational environment.
I previously received a BA Honours in Oriental History, Cultures and Civilization from the University of Bologna in Italy, and a double MA Honours in African Studies from the University of Bologna and Dalarna University in Sweden, with a dissertation on identity construction among young Eritreans living in Bologna.
